Entry Fee: $10/TASF Member and $15/Non - TASF Member (Fee Needed
for
Renting the Park, Prizes and Misc Expenses)
Limitations: At Least 3 TASF Members/Team
If any one is interested to play but don't have a team, send us
an email
and TASF Committee will help you form a team. Snacks and Soft
Drinks
will be provided at the event. Please note that this is a Co-Ed
tournament and both Men and Women are welcome to form teams.

Tournament. We are planning to conduct the tournament in late
July or Early
August depending on the Venue Availability. The tournament will
be
categorized by Age Group. Interested Kids and Adults can email
their entries by
07/01/07 and please include your age along with the names for
proper

| Sarvajith
Ugadi Panduga Vedukalu on April 14th 2007 |
Telugu New Year celebrations were newer than ever when celebrated as Sarvajith Ugadi Vedukalu by Telugu Association of South Florida. With more than 300 members of the Telugu community attending the event, the celebrations drew a new silhouette. The event started with candle lightning by Sri Krishna Reddy Garu and Smt Mydhili Chalasani Garu.
TASF president Voleti Chakradhar presided the event and thanked the committee and participants for organizing such a marvelous and entertaining event. Meghana Chalasani along with Param Yanamandra and Sarita Ramayanam EMCEED the event. Brilliantly choreographed classical dances and charming songs sung with incredible interest by very young kids highlighted the first half of the show, while the amazingly talented father and son duo Sri Prasad and Kaushik Ram Kommaraju from North Carolina endowed lovely film music concert in the second half.
Kaushik Ram rendered few all time hits transporting the audience into a Trance with his mellifluous voice. The recent fast numbers sung by them had kids and adults equally elicit the dancers in them. Local
singers Dr Prasad Iragavarapu, Priya and Sarita joined the duo as an added attraction.

Telugu Association of South Florida celebrated Diwali on Nov
19th, 2006. It was a grand success. Prominent Telugu singer
Ghazal Srinivas entertained audience during the event. |

| Dance
& Music concert by Smitha Madhav Oct 1st 2006 |
The program was an exceptional delight to every Indian music and dance enthusiast.
Ms. Smitha Madhav presented Bharathanatyam and Carnatic Music recital with amazing grace and perfection. The audience were absolutely spellbound for the complete length of this program that lasted for well over 4 hours. Sponsored by the Vegeshna Foundation Hyderabad India made the enjoyment more worth while.
TASF is proud to be part of this event brought to us by the efforts of Mr. and Mrs. Ravi Madala and many others.

The program started with classical dance presented by the students of Siri Nritya dance Academy headed by Rashmi Sridhar followed by Bharathanatyam recital by Ms Smitha Madhav. A DVD presentation about Vegesna foundation was rendered by its trustee, Sri Vamsee Ramaraju Garu. This was followed a melodious carnatic vocal recital by Ms Smitha Madhav. Token of Appreciations were presented to the artists by Dr. Subhashini yelamanchili. The emcee of the night, Dr. Sarita Ramayanam conducted the program with poise. The program concluded with vote of thanks, presented by Sudha Kota. |

Day Celebrations |

American
Indian Association has celebrated the 59th Indian
independence day event on the 20th august. “Three
generations with roots in India celebrated that country's 59th
year of independence Sunday with music, performances and food”

This
family-oriented event featured a cultural program with a
patriotic flavor. The novelty
of this event was to bring in various other organizations of the
Indian community under one roof to celebrate an integrated event
of our nation. Each participating organization exhibited its
activities and events at indoor booths to inform and
educate the local community.
“We
bring to the local community a joint celebration of this
historic date in South Florida, and take pride in exhibiting our
unified diversity”, says Sabiha (Saja) Khan, President of the
South Florida Chapter of AIA.
Telugu
Association of South Florida actively participated in the event.
Apart from arranging a colorful booth, TASF committee members
were present through out the event to provide information. TASF
also presented a lovely dance item choreographed by Sarita.
Ramayanam and performed by Ramya Reddy, Yashwanth potluri and
Veena Karnam.
Also
featured was a mini Indian Bazaar, with vendors exhibiting and
selling Indian arts, crafts, jewelry and apparel. For the food
lovers, local Indian Restaurants offered a mouth-watering
selection of delicious Indian cuisine.
At
least 2,000 people showed up as dozens of Indian groups staffed
booths with information on India's heritage, business and
religions.

| Super
Sixes Cricket Tournament |

|
We are excited to share with everyone that the inaugural 2006 TASF
Super Sixes Cricket Championship has been a great success. It attracted
over 50 players and spectators from South Florida. The event was held over
two weekends and we have a WINNER.
Team Led by Niranjan Reddy from Office Depot won the championship and
the team led by Amarnath Kanjerla from Citrix is the runners up.
Overall everyone enjoyed the tournament and suggested having the
tournament multiple times a year.
We thank everyone who volunteered and helped the TASF committee to
organize and conduct the tournament in true sportsman spirit, especially
Parameshwar Yanamandra, Ramesh Jampula, Siva Nuthaki, Chakradhar
Pissupati, Venkat Pushpala, Srinivas Kalluri

Harikatha
|
|
Sri Krishna Rayabaaram Harikatha by
Smt. Jayanthi Savitri Garu was an amazing one of a kind experience. This harikatha entertained all ages equally. Her sense of humor, energy and enormous amount of talent kept the show very invigorating and lively. Dr Prasad garu presented mementos in appreciation to
Smt. Savitri garu and her son Mr. Siva Swaroop, who accompanied the harikatha with his mridanga
vadyam. Anand Guda and Balu Pakala were also appreciated for volunteering and making this event happen.
